At CES 2017 snapdragon finally revealed their new processor Snapdragon 835 that may soon be powering up the flagships of 2017. This new SoC uses a 10 nm design and is 35% smaller than Snapdragon 820. This processor features support for Quick Charge 4.0, and according to company is capable of delivering 27 percent higher performance than the Snapdragon 821 while consuming 40 percent less power.
With all these architectural improvements, this SoC provides significant improvements in every aspect of the mobile experience: whether it is ultra-fast charging, new AR/VR immersions, advanced camera capabilities, and even security.
The Snapdragon 835 will feature the Kryo 280 core and will have eight cores in total in a big.Little configuration. One set of cores will run at up to 2.45GHz, while the other set (little cores) is clocked at 1.8GHz max with an Adreno 540 GPU.
Snapdragon 835 provides improvements to photography as well. It provides improved zoom and stabilization for photos and videos by developing highly optimized software algorithms. Qualcomm’s newest video stabilization software, EIS 3.0, is engineered to provide superior 4K video stabilization.
Qualcomm has got this new Qualcomm Symphony System Manager to support long battery life and superior thermals which in turn provide you with more juice out of your battery.
The processor has been designed keeping the requirements for VR and AR in mind and comes with support for Google's VR platform Daydream. It offers 25% faster rendering of 3D graphics and 60X more display colors when compared to the previous generation.
The Snapdragon 835 supports ‘Qualcomm Haven Security Platform’ which uses PINS and fingerprint to authenticate users, but it also support eye and face biometric based security.
