PUBG is back in India with a different name

PUBG Mobile India has been renamed ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’, and is said to launch soon. But the launch date hasn’t been announced yet.

Krafton today announced the launch of “Battlegrounds Mobile India”. This announcement comes shortly after it was reported that PUBG Mobile India will instead launch as Battlegrounds Mobile India. But this time too, Krafton hasn’t provided a launch date for the upcoming mobile game.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is said to “offer a world-class AAA multiplayer gaming experience on mobile.” It will be free to play on mobile, and it will be available only in India. There will also be exclusive in-game events like outfits and features, and it will also have its own esports ecosystem with tournaments and leagues in collaboration with partners. Krafton also plans to host a series of India-specific in-game events at launch.

As for the launch date of Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton is yet to announce but it has confirmed a period of pre-registration before the launch. It looks like Krafton is still confident about launching Battlegrounds Mobile India after announcing back in November the launch of PUBG Mobile India. Based on the teaser image, the game looks like it will be based on PUBG Mobile with only the logo changed. The logo is also splashed with the tricolour of the Indian flag. When Krafton announced PUBG Mobile India, it said the game would have India centric features and content. The same approach is expected to be followed for Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Krafton also highlighted that it will be working with partners to ensure data protection and security. “This will ensure privacy rights are respected, and all data collection and storage will be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in India and for players here,” Krafton said in a statement.
