J.K. Rowling is known to drop bombshells for her Harry Potter fans and she did it again. But did this time the reveal she made left everyone gobsmacked. In a recent entry in Pottermore, the wirter explained that there are two Harry Potters, not one.
In all the confusion and shock for the fans, she then went on to explain who the first Harry Potter was.
The first Harry Potter was there long before the birth of our Harry Potter often referred as the Chosen One. He lived in the beginning of the 20th century and was nobody else but the great-grandfather of latter Harry Potter.
Rowling wrote:
Henry Potter (Harry to his intimates), was a direct descendant of Hardwin and Iolanthe, and served on the Wizengamot from 1913 – 1921.
Henry caused a minor stir when he publicly condemned then Minister for Magic, Archer Evermonde, who had forbidden the magical community to help Muggles waging the First World War.
His outspokenness on the behalf of the Muggle community was also a strong contributing factor in the family’s exclusion from the ‘Sacred Twenty-Eight’.
The ‘Sacred Twenty-Eight’ are the families that by the 1930s were still “truly pure-blood”.
Harry Potter had son called Fleamont Potter, and who married Euphemia and then they had a son, named James.
The couple lived long enough to see their son marry a Muggle-born girl called Lily Evans, but not to meet their grandson Harry.
So it really ends up confusing how should we really refer to Harry Potter.
