Samsung on Monday rocked the market by launching the Galaxy A (2017) series of smartphones that includes the Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A7 (2017). All three smartphones will be rolled out in markets from January in Russia and after that in more markets all over the globe. No pricing information has been declared by the company yet.The South Korean consumer electronics giant claims that the new Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series is equipped with “enhanced” camera compared to their previous versions, optimized for low-light conditions. Samsung also says that the smartphones has a simplified camera UX that simplifies capturing selfies, switching modes, or applying filters.
The Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series smartphones come with IP68 dust and water resistance, with from a metal frame and 3D glass back panel.” All three smartphones will be made available in Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist, and Peach Cloud color variants.
The Galaxy A (2017) series will support for up to 256GB microSD cards for storage expansion, a fingerprint scanner on the Home Button, there is also a fast charge support and USB Type-C port. Add on features include Samsung Pay (with both NFC and MST compatibility), Samsung Cloud, and Secure Folder.
Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017)
The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) is the smallest of this group, it sports a 4.7” Super AMOLED display of 720p resolution. It has a bit slower 1.6GHz octa-core CPU and the camera is also of comparably lower resolution – 13MP at the back and 8MP at the front. Both cameras come with F/1.9 apertures. RAM has been lowered to 2GB and internal storage is 16GB. It has a 2350mah battery. Colors are, once more, Black, Blue, Pink and Gold.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017)
The middle member of the new group, Galaxy A5 (2017) has a 5.2” Super AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution. It also has an Exynos 7880 chipset with 8 Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.9GHz and 3GB of RAM. The 32GB storage is expandable via a microSD slot. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) has 16MP cameras on both side but it lacks the F/1.9 fast aperture. Battery capacity has been kept at 3,000mAh, it has the fast charging and the Color options are once more Black, Blue, Pink and Gold.
Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017)
The most unique and attractive member of the trio is the 5.7” Galaxy A7 (2017), which has a Full HD Super AMOLED screen combined with a 1.9GHz Octa-core CPU and 3GB of RAM placed on an Exynos chipset. It has a 16MP primary camera and a 16MP selfie camera, both are equipped with bright F/1.9 lenses. Storage is 32GB and can be expanded via a microSD card slot. The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is driven by a 3,600 mAh battery and a Fast charging support. Color options for the same are Black, Blue, Pink and Gold color options.
The Galaxy A (2017) trio will be available in Russia in early-January and will be expanded to global markets later on. Pricing is yet to be announced.
