Samsung is preparing the first stretchable display which will be presented tomorrow during the Society for Information Display 2017. Samsung will be revealing a 9.1 inch stretchable organic LED panel.
Stretchable displays are the future of flexible display market, which contains rollable and curved displays. In current market flexible displays are only able to fold one side, while the display which will be made by Samsung will be able to curve, bend or fold in either way. This statement was made by a Samsung spokesperson.
He also stated that this display can be stretched by 12 millimeters just like a balloon. This technology can help smartphones to help the screen cracking problem.
