Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo was suspended for five games after he was shown red card in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Barcelona in first leg of Spanish Super Cup. One match ban is for being shown two yellow cards and further four match ban for pushing the referee after he was sent off.
Ronaldo was a substitute in the match and after he put Real Madrid ahead in the match 2-1 by his stunning strike and was booked after he took off his shirt. This was the first yellow card and laid the foundations for series of events that led to his five match ban.
He got his second yellow card for diving under pressure from Samuel Umtiti and was given red card by the referee. Ronaldo didn’t take it lightly and was really furious over the decision and pushed the referee which further added four more match bans to his tally making it a total of five match ban.
