OnePlus today confirmed that their latest flagship killer can also be bought for a new gold color, which they call as “Soft Gold” and is available with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. OnePlus had already teased that they would be releasing a new variant of OnePlus 5 and as expected it is a new color variant.
The Soft Gold color variant has a back with an attractive golden color, and unlike Midnight Black and Slate Grey model, it has a white front rather than having a black front.
The gold color is very similar to what we have seen in OnePlus 3T which is actually a nice thing. The back is attractive with its nice curves and really stands up to its name, but the front kind of lags behind the black front, which provided a much obvious edge to edge display.
Apart from this OnePlus has also announced that Slate Gray model will also be available in 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage. Earlier only Midnight Black model provided with 8 GB of RAM.
Apart from color, there is no other difference in the new variant, it has the same specs as earlier models. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, a 3,300mAh battery, a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, and a dual-camera system with 16- and 20-megapixel sensors. The soft gold OnePlus 5 is available direct from OnePlus starting today for $479.
