“Virat Kohli equals Sachin’s record” and more stats from Ind vs SL

It’s been an amazing tour for India, first Sri Lanka was whitewashed in the 3 match Test series and now the same has happened in ODIs as well. But for captain Virat Kohli apart from leading team to series win, he has also been able to smash some records, well thanks to his amazing performance in last two ODIs.

Virat Kohli equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of highest rating points by an Indian at 887 points and thus strengthened his position as top ODI batsman bagging a lead of 26 points over David Warner. Sachin achieved this feat back in 1998, and moreover, Kohli is also top ranked T20 batsman.

He has not been the only one with some amazing performances and stats, as Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah jumped 27 places in the ODI bowling charts and is now at 4th position behind Mitchel Starc. This is his career best position, as he finished with 15 wickets in the series.

Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni are back in Top 10, Rohit slammed two back to back centuries and Dhoni played three match winning innings. Rohit is at position 9 and Dhoni is at 10th position.

Apart from these players some significant gains have been done by some of the players, Akshar Patel is one of them as he closed the series with a 10 spot jump from 20 to 10. Hardik Pandya also gained two spots, beside him Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav also made some significant jumps.

Now Sri Lanka will not be able to directly qualify for the World Cup directly, they could have done so by winning two ODIs which they failed to do.

The ratings were released today after the last ODI and India still remains in the third spot.
