Chris Evans is done with being Captain America

Evans started his Marvel Cinematic Universe tenancy as Steve Rogers/Captain America with an indispensable six-film deal with Marvel Studios that started off with 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, a film title that clearly broadcasted the studio’s resplendent franchise plans. Seven years later, this past April’s Avengers: Infinity War marked the sixth film on the initial contract, which, last year, Evans extended with one film, the 2019-scheduled untitled Avengers 4. That film, as Evans has just reaffirmed, will serve as Steve Rogers’s last film.

Well, We knew that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would change drastically after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and the still-untitled Avengers 4. But were we prepared for just how much it would change?

Chris Evans is grateful for all the memories the role of Captain America has given him over the last eight years.

The fans are coming out with different theories as to how different would it be without caption America staring in Avengers 4. Will Cap bite the bullet in Avengers 4, sacrificing himself for the greater good in the fight against Thanos? Will Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) or Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) step up to wield the Captain America shield, as their characters did in the comics? What will the next line-up of Avengers look like when the heroes emerge from the aftermath of their battle with Thanos?
