OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition With 10GB RAM, Warp Charge Launched

OnePlus may launch just two phones a year but they never fail to surprise us on the limited editions of the handsets. In November, it introduced a Thunder Purple variant of the OnePlus 6T, which promptly sold out in a couple of weeks. And now it’s extending that special treatment of the OnePlus 6T to a partnership with famed British automaker McLaren.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has been unveiled globally, and the Chinese company has provided a price in British pounds. OnePlus has also detailed availability in Western Europe and North America, whilst providing a tentative timeline for India, China, and Nordic regions.

The biggest highlights of the smartphone are its 10GB of RAM, and the company’s new fast charging tech – Warp Charge 30. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition also features a carbon fibre pattern below the glass on the rear panel, and the signature McLaren Papaya Orange colour placed on the bottom of the smartphone. There is more McLaren stuff in the box as well.

More RAM

The OnePlus 6T can usually be bought with a maximum of 8GB of RAM. However, OnePlus has punched that up by another 2GB for the McLaren Edition, resulting in a spacious 10GB to keep all those apps, games and background processes humming along with no slowdown.

Warp charging

OnePlus tells us the added wattage makes Warp Charge fast enough to “deliver a day’s [worth of] power in 20 minutes.” the normal OnePlus 6T, which features a rather large 3,700-mAh battery, can achieve 60 per cent in 30 minutes — so the McLaren Edition should top up a bit faster, provided its battery is the same size.

Well, some people would rather not consider the McLaren edition because of the price difference but the hardcore Mclaren fans wouldn’t even think twice before buying it. the $70 difference between the McLaren edition and the normal 256GB 6T largely goes towards the unique branding and accessories that come with the McLaren version. And that’s enough for the McLaren fans to justify the cost.
