WhatsApp is finally rolling out the fingerprint authentication feature for its Android users, but currently, it is in the beta program. This move has come 6 months after the initial launch of fingerprint authentication on iOS devices.
So if you are a beta tester for WhatsApp, you can now use this feature and test it as it will allow users to open the app using the fingerprint sensor on their phones. But even with this feature, you will be able to reply to messages from the notification and answer calls.
The feature was spotted by WABetaInfo, to get this feature you need to be a beta tester and do update the app. To activate the feature head over to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint lock.Even yet if you are not able to see the feature, all you can do is wait for the feature to be activated for your device.

Also, you can set up the time till which the app will stay unlocked, as unlocking the app again and again can be a bit annoying. The current settings are that app locks immediately, after 1 minute or after 30 minutes.
Also, you can hide if you want WhatsApp to not show the messages and sender in the notifications bar.
