Twitter has permanently banned President Donald Trump’s account from its platform, after the recent events of violence in the US Capitol. The company said the action has been taken citing concerns of further incitement of violence through its platform.
Earlier Donald Trump’s account was suspended by Twitter on Wednesday after he made tweets condoning the violence. The account was later reactivated after he complied by deleting the tweets that violated the Twitter policies.
Trump will not be able to get around Twitter’s ban by making a new account or using an alias, a Twitter spokesperson clarified to TechCrunch. If the president attempts to evade his suspension, any account he uses will also be subject to a ban for breaking Twitter’s rules.
Since then Trump is using @POTUS account to show his disappointment. He tweeted: “We will not be SILENCED! Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH,” , he also hinted that his team might build his own platform in the near future.
