With the increase in cases of covid 19 cases in India, oximeters have become an essential item in one’s day-to-day life.
However, due to more demand for this, the prices of this device are been hiked by both manufactures and suppliers. A well-ranged oximeter can easily cost around 2000 nowadays. Which can be a bit uncomfortable to purchase for many people.
So as an alternative to an oximeter, Kolkata-based health start-up developed a mobile app called Careplix. CarePlix Vitals monitor one’s blood oxygen level, pulse, and respiratory rate.
All one needs to do is use the mobile app and place a finger on the phone’s rear camera and flashlight and within 40 secs the oxygen rate (SPO2), pulse, and respiratory rates are seen on device.
The Careplix Vital’s app is a registration-based application. As the registration is to determine the strength of finger placement, the stronger the placement more accurate will be the result.
