5 Ways to Travel Across Europe After the Pandemic

The pandemic has crushed plenty of travel plans over the last 18 months, and there are questions on how we are supposed to travel in the future. Here are some ideas on how to travel across Europe when we are able to explore the world again.

Trains

Travelling by train is one of the more popular ways to get across the continent. Not only is it relatively cheaper than other forms of travel, it can also cover larger distances quickly. Unlike the airport, you can avoid security lines and baggage checks. In fact, you are responsible for your luggage and can keep it by your side for the entire journey. Travelling by train has the added bonus of being able to travel into a city centre where you can easily switch to the local metro system.

Car

Using your own car to travel is very convenient and provides you with a great deal of flexibility. Depending on the model of your car, you can pack plenty of luggage if you have the space. The main issue with travelling long distances in your own car is the maintenance. Long journeys can damage the engine if you don’t keep an eye on things, and the last thing anyone wants is to be stranded at the roadside in an unfamiliar country.

Motorbike

We are sure a lot of people were inspired to go traveling on a bike after watching Ewan McGregor’s adventures a few years ago. For taking to the road on a bike adventure, you will need the proper motorcycle gear to make your journey as easy as possible. For example, it might seem really cool to travel on a bike that is designed for speed, but your really need a touring bike if you plan on riding for long periods. Otherwise your muscles can get sore and cramp up while you are riding.

Planes

If you want to get from one place to another really quickly, your best bet will be a plane. Using a plane has the added bonus of being able to travel in the air over bodies of water. Depending on how you view it, it can be the more restrictive way to travel. Security checkpoints and checking in times are two of the biggest drawbacks to flying. However, it is still the safest way to travel according to Superman as accidents don’t happen as much as they do with other modes of transport.

Boats

If using a plane to skip across the water doesn’t appeal to you, using a boat is an excellent alternative. Travelling by boat is a much slower way to travel but it is also a lot more relaxed. The purpose of travelling by boat is to savour the journey, not rush to the destination. Travelling by boat is a great way to see some of the smaller islands that can be found off the coasts of Europe. Many of these smaller islands don;t have room for an airport, so the local ferry service may be the only way on and off the island.
