New trailer for Marvel’s What If…? gives a glimpse into alternate realities

Marvel has released a new trailer to its upcoming Disney+ animated original series What If….?. This new Marvel series will bring new alternate realities that have always been on people’s minds.

As the name of the series What If….? suggests it will showcase different scenarios of the MCU and answer different questions, just like What If Peggy Carter was chosen to get the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers? or What If Yondu kidnapped T’Challa instead of Peter Quill when he came to Earth?

This animated show will give us answers to all these questions. Also, this would be the first animated property in the MCU, making it easier for the creators to rewrite various scenes without reshooting the whole previous scenes.

Many MCU characters have reprised their roles for this series by recording lines for their characters. Even Chadwick Boseman did so before his death in 2020.

The show uses new technology to layer animated CGI paint over real footage, letting the show creators use the existing footage and convert it into animated shots.

What If…? launches on Disney Plus on Aug. 11, with new episodes airing on Wednesdays.
