This Friday speaking on the Tesla‘s AI Event Elon Musk unveiled a humanoid robot called Tesla Bot. The Bot will be able to perform basic human tasks and the company will present the first prototype sometime next year.
Tesla is arguably the world’s biggest robotics company because our cars are semi-sentient robots on wheels, it kind of makes sense to put those in a humanoid form.

Telsa released a video sharing a glimpse of how the robot will look like when it comes out.
The robot will be 5.8 feet (1.8m) tall and weigh 125 pounds (57kg). It will be able to move at a speed of 5mph (8 kmph) and carry 45 pounds (20kg) of weight. It will also have a screen on its face to give information to users.
Musk also jokingly said, “that the robot will be set up at such a physical level that you can run away from it and most likely overpower it. I hope that does not ever happen”.
Mechanically, the Bot is made of unspecified “lightweight materials”, has 40 electromechanical actuators to enable smooth movement and “human-level” hands.
Speaking about the possible effects of the Tesla Bot on the economy, which he reasoned was built on labor, Musk said “essentially, the future of physical work will be a choice. If you wanna do it, you can, but you won’t need to do it”.
