Vivo V5s – another selfie focused smartphone launched

While other smartphone companies are trying to deal with dual camera setups, Vivo here is trying to capture the selfie focused market in India. So Vivo yet again came up with one more selfie-focused smartphone Vivo V5s.

There have not any big improvements to the mobile, just a few refinements in the design and a bit more internal storage. Everything else is same as was in Vivo V5.

To capture the interests of selfie obsessed users, Vivo V5s packs a 20 MP camera on the front. It also boasts of a ‘Moonlight Glow’ feature which induces a glow on the face without training the eyes. The company claims pictures clicked with this effect are not grainy or distorted as would have been under flash light.

Kent Cheng said that: “After launching the Vivo V5Plus Limited edition, we are thrilled to introduce yet another masterpiece, the Vivo V5s. Through the launch of this device, Vivo aims to provide the best selfie camera phone in the market. Following the overwhelming response for V5, we have equipped the V5s with enhanced storage capacity and an improved operating system.”

Specifications

Vivo V5s is powered with 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek processor with 4 GB of RAM. As mentioned before the phone packs an internal storage of 64 GB with the ability to be expanded up to 266GB using microSD card. It consists of 13 MP camera on the back with PDAF having an aperture of f/2.2 and as we know a 20 MP camera on the front side with f/2.0 aperture. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Funtouch OS 3.0 on top of it and has a battery of 3000mAh.

The smartphone is priced at Rs. 18,990 and will come in two colors – Crown Gold and Matte Black.

It seems like Vivo is not really bothering about the specifications as they are providing quite modest specifications for such a price range, they are really not bothering about the performance of the device, but only at the front camera.

The smartphone will be available at offline stores and Flipkart from 6 May, but the pre-booking starts today.
