Samsung Galaxy S8 vs LG G6 camera comparison

Samsung didn’t introduce a huge change in its latest flagship’s camera i.e. S8 and S8 plus, Samsung galaxy S8 kept the same 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization found in the Samsung’s last flagship S7. Samsung this time has done slight improvements with its software which will be helping the processing of image once the picture is taken.

On the other hand, LG has added a dual camera on the back of its latest flagship LG G6. It features a 13-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture. LG G6 has given a strong competition to S8 on the basis of the camera.

The dual camera setup on the G6 helps G6 in taking wide images which S8 lacks. But the sharpness and contrast offered in daylight is better on the S8. But sometimes S8 pops out too much color and contrast which makes images unnatural, but some may like the way images look with high contrast. While capturing images S8 never changed its focus point while the G6 sometimes had a hard time focusing on the product. Details in images from both devices were pretty good but S8 in few places takes the lead.

In low light conditions, G6 pops out its saturation significantly. Sometimes images shot from G6 might look good due to its more saturation but overall focus time and sharper images, S8 again takes the lead.

Here’s our friend from High Tech Traveler who has done an in-depth comparison of cameras of both these devices. Check out the video below:

Moving on to the front facing camera G6 has a wider perspective than S8 does. G6’s wider front facing camera helps in getting more content in a single image than S8. If you are looking a device for selfies both might be as good but for wider selfies, G6 might be a better choice.

Video quality from both devices are pretty same but S8’s optical image stabilization in front camera, as well as back camera, is far better than G6 does. S8 had far smoother videos than G6 and also the audio quality of S8 was better than G6.
