Samsung has already announced that they are working on a foldable smartphone, and they might become the first manufacturer to get these mobiles in public. But Apple is also reportedly said to be working on foldable smartphone technology, and not only that we might see a foldable iPhone in next two years.
As reported by CNBC that Bank of America Merrill Lynch said that Apple is working with its Asian partners to create a new design for iPhones.
Senior analyst Wamsi Mohan wrote a note to clients today after meeting several Apple suppliers in Asia:
We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED versions although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past. Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.
Earlier a Korean Media outlet also reported that Apple is working with LG for foldable OLED panels that could start production in 2020, but this report cited anonymous industry sources.
