Adobe Photoshop has always been a magical software. People love using it but it needs a good graphics card to run smoothly. Whereas Apple is planning to release its full version for use in iPad in the coming year.
The launch of the software is still 5-6 months away, according to reports.
This will be the first time Adobe has released anything outside the confines of traditional computing platforms. It is also a testament to just how significant Apple’s iOS platform has now become. Most likely because applications like Photoshop require A LOT of processing power, and iPads have only just started catching up with desktop computing in the last couple of years.
Scott Belsky, chief product officer of Adobe’s Creative Cloud division, confirmed to Bloomberg that they are working on a new cross-platform iteration of Photoshop and other applications but didn’t share launch plans.
In an interview with the publication, Belsky said “My aspiration is to get these on the market as soon as possible,” Belsky said in an interview. “There’s a lot required to take a product as sophisticated and powerful as Photoshop and make that work on a modern device like the iPad. We need to bring our products into this cloud-first collaborative era.”
Let’s see what magic will two big companies of the world bring together. iPad may or may not be able to run the software really well, but that’s the actual challenge for Apple’s engineers.
