Samsung’s next wireless charger will juice up two devices at once

Samsung has always wanted to be on the top of the page. The revolutionary Samsung Galaxy S9 plus was one of the steps. Now, Samsung is trying to make a new wireless charger which can charge up to 2 phones at once.

Specifically, the company is working on a new wireless charging standard that can power up 2 phones. Today, we’re looking at a maximum 15-watt output to wireless charging pads. Soon, we’ll be able to charge phones at a maximum of 40 watts.

Samsung revealed its Wireless Charger Duo, which (as the name implies) could offer fast charging to two devices at once. It wouldn’t be as flexible as Apple’s device since you’d need to place your devices on specific spots. Samsung Wireless Charger Duo (EP-N6100) is basically made for the Galaxy Note 9.

The image was pulled from MobileFun and leaked by Roland Quandt. It’s only one image, but luckily, the box shows both the product itself and some features. The Wireless Charger Duo itself is reminiscent of those iPhone-Apple Watch combination chargers we often see. The smaller charging surface is intended for the Galaxy Watch, but a phone can be placed there as well.

Quandt says that MobileFun is expected to charge around £55 GBP, which is around $72 USD. That’s not a terrible price for an OEM part with two fast wireless charging coils, though I’m sure similar products already exist if you’re willing to sacrifice the cool design.

That’s all we know for now, Samsung may release it at some point of time, but we don’t know when. Waiting for the best, and not judging what’s going to come ahead. Thumbs up to Samsung.
