When Disney’s Star Wars land Galaxy’s Edge opens next year, it’ll come with a familiar soundtrack. While exploring the furthest reaches of the galaxy, you’re going to need some traveling music.
Legendary composer John Williams will provide an original score that visitors will hear within the attractions of the Star Wars-themed land of Galaxy’s Edge.
The first of Entertainment Weekly’s videos shows off a new behind-the-scenes look at the park’s construction, revealing an extensive array of buildings and landscapes, set to a music that is the “overarching theme” for Galaxy’s Edge.
The journey of the park begins with guests boarding a shuttle pod that transports them from Earth to their hotel in space. Then a pair of videos that highlight the main rides for the parks — Smuggler’s Run, set aboard the Millennium Falcon, and Rise of the Resistance, is shown to the people.
Disney tells EW there will be even more music for the 14-acre park expansions from Williams, who is also working on director J.J. Abrams’ Episode IX for next December.
The park is expected to open in the summer of 2019 at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and in the fall of 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Disney has said that the park will be a completely immersive experience, with guests interacting with in-universe characters, and staying in a hotel decked out like a starship.
It’s a revolutionary concept that turns the accommodations into their own ride with a multi-day experience that drenches the visitors and characters inhabiting an orbiting luxury starship.
