The Essential phone is sold out and the company says it won’t be restocked. Droid Life spotted earlier today that the phone is pretty much out of stock, and Essential says it isn’t making any more.
The essential phone also known as Essential PH-1 was announced last year for $700 by Andy Rubin who is the founder of Essential and also the creator of the Android mobile operating system. This product really got a hyped launch as it was a company by the creator of Android OS.
The Essential Phone was priced at $700 upon launch, entering a field populated by Apple’s iPhone X, Google’s Pixel 2 XL, and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8. The price tag was later reduced to $500, which made the Essential Phone more appealing to customers.
But as part of that announcement, the company is also confirming something that fans had long hoped to be true: Essential is officially working on a second “mobile product,” presumably this rumoured tiny phone that uses AI to answer emails and text messages for you. An Essential spokeswoman wouldn’t directly confirm to me that its “next mobile product” is a phone, but that’s what “mobile product” generally means.
