A stern reply comes from the US military on ‘raiding’ Area 51

Area 51, a US military base, run by the US Air Force and is used for flight testing stealth planes. According to the Urban legends Area 51 is a weird place. The projects there have long been kept super secretive. Also, the confirmation of the existence of Area 51, located about 80 miles north of Las Vegas, came only in 2013 when the US Central Intelligence Agency declassified a report on the history of the Lockheed U-2 spy plane. Since then, a lot of conspiracies related to alien sightings and extraterrestrial activities have been revolving among the people all over the world although no solid proof has still come under the light to verify these rumors.

Raiding Area 51

You might have recently come across the above three words frequently. A lot of people on social media are speaking about ‘Raiding Area 51’. Let us tell you what is going on. It all started with a bit of a Joke on Facebook. Some Anonymous users behind a Facebook meme page proposed a jaunty group invasion of the restricted compound. In a Facebook event titled “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us,” the creators explain:

“We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them, aliens.”

So far 1.5 million people have signed up for the event. Their plan of storming Area 51 is scheduled for 20 September.

Is Storming Area 51 really gonna happen?

Well we don’t think that it will happen and also Storming a US Airforce Military base is not a child’s play. Moreover, in a post at the top of the event page written by Jackson Barnes in which he has explained his “Game Plan” to swarm the base clearly comes with a disclaimer that “Hello US government, this is a joke, and I do not actually intend to go ahead with this plan. I just thought it would be funny and get me some thumbsy uppies on the internet.” (He currently has 101,000 “thumbsy uppies” for his effort). Barnes’s disclaimer totally points towards the fact that entering or “Storming Area 51 is all a Joke.”

US AirForce reaction

After the breakout of the news on social media and other platforms, US Airforce didn’t seemed to be amused by the Joke and came up with a strict reply through one of their spokesperson, Laura McAndrews who told the Washington Post that they were aware of the event and said, “[Area 51] is an open training range for the U.S. Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces. The U.S. Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.”
