Tesla hopes to unveil its Electric pickup Truck in November, says Elon Musk

The electric car maker company Tesla previously announced to unveil its electric pickup truck this summer but whatever the reason might be, the company missed its goal. Besides failing to showcase their smaller cargo haul in summer the company still plans to unveil the truck before 2020. Elon Musk told Twitter followers that the electric pickup’s reveal will “most likely” take place in November. We’d take that with a grain of salt — remember how Enhanced Summon is still a no-show 10 months after Musk said it was coming in six weeks? Still, it shows that Tesla is bent on showing the truck before 2020 arrives.

The new Tesla product is mostly in dark and the company has done a good job keeping its specs behind the curtain. An early concept image of the truck was shown at the unveiling of the Tesla Semi in 2017 and an image tweeted in May. The cryptic image reveals a boxy design with a full-width light bar and a horizontal Tesla emblem. We’re assuming it shows the back end of the truck, likely with a tonneau cover over the cargo box, but Musk remained tight-lipped about the sketch. Tesla has hinted at a “cyberpunk” design (you’re looking at a teaser above) that will purportedly offer the carrying ability of a Ford F-150 and the performance of a base Porsche 911, but not much more than that.On asking Elon himself in a Recode interview by Kara Swisher last year, Musk described the truck as:

“It’s gonna be like a really futuristic-like cyberpunk, “Blade Runner” pickup truck. It’s gonna be awesome, it’s gonna be amazing. This will be heart-stopping. It stops my heart. It’s like, oh, it’s great.” Adding to which he said, “It’s gonna have a lot of titanium”.

Musk has said in the past that he’s had the truck’s core design and the engineering elements in his mind for almost half a decade and was eager to kick start the project as soon as possible because of the growing competition. Posting, as always, on his official Twitter account, Musk announced the truck’s introduction will take place by the end of 2019. “We’re close, but the magic is in the final details,” he wrote.
