The production of all-new The Batman was hit by the rapid spread of COVID-19, earlier this year. But details about the movie keep on appearing online. Now Andy Serkis who will be playing Alfred Pennyworth in the new movie has said that this movie is going to be much darker than earlier Batman movies.
Well the director had already hinted that he was going to take a different approach to this iconic DC character, and when Serkis was asked by LADbible if this was going to be a darker version, he responded:
I would say that’s not far from the truth. It’s very much about the emotional connection between Alfred and Bruce. That’s really at the center of it. And it is a really exquisite script that Matt has written.
Matt Reeves already shared the look of the new Batman suit and we have already seen various images popping online from the set, which does give an impression of the movie being a darker version.
Serkis also talked about his approach on playing the iconic character of Alfred, which was played by Michael Caine, and how he wants to avoid any comparisons and wants to do his own take of the character.
The movie stars Robert Pattinson as the lead role of Batman, and was supposed to hit theaters on June 25,2021. But with the COVID-19 pandemic halting the production Warner Bros. decided to move the release date further into October 1, 2021.
