Dustin Poirier wins the trilogy fight as McGregor breaks his leg

The much-anticipated trilogy between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier ended in a much-disappointed way for Conor McGregor. At UFC 264 main event Conor Mcgregor broke his leg and the fight was ended as doctor stoppage.

During the buildup, there was a lot of animosity between the two fighters as both of them were already exchanging jabs on Twitter. The first fight was won by Conor McGregor and the second fight was won by Dustin Poirier.

Now a win in this third fight Dustin Poirier came out as an eventual winner of the trilogy fight. In the final moments of this first round, the fighters exchanged some blows with “The Notorious” falling back in pain. The superstar broke his leg after stepping back to reset after throwing a left hand.

Referee Herb Dean immediately stopped the fight and called an end due to doctor stoppage and Dustin Poirier was announced the winner.

This unanticipated end left many fans disappointed and wondering if this was the end of the trilogy.
