Samsung stretchable display showcased at SID 2017

As expected Samsung showcased its new stretchable OLED display at the SID 2017 which was hosted by the Society for Information Display at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Samsung showcased its stretchable display along with a 1.96-inch 4K LCD and a 5.09-inch OLED panel.

The best part of the event was the 9.1-inch display which can be rolled and in any form. And also it can revert back to its original position easily.

As mentioned by Korea Herald website these displays can be used in the smartphones and wearable devices which will resolve the issue of breaking display.

Unlike the existing displays which only can be folded in one position, this Samsung stretchable OLED display can be rolled, bent, and curved in any position.

Samsung claims this display can resist dents up to 12mm. As this product is a prototype so we don’t know if this will be available to consumer market or not.

Samsung is currently ruling the display market with their high-quality AMOLED displays which were currently in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 plus and were the best smartphone display till now. Now Samsung is up with this technology which if used in smartphones or wearable devices will resolve the most common problem of breaking screens of devices.
