Afghan Wicketkeeper-batsman Shafiqullah Shafaq scores double century in a T20 game

Afghanistan cricket is emerging flawlessly and giving some exciting cricketers to the world. We have already seen how Rashid Khan and Mohammed Nabi have risen into international cricket and have established themselves as much higher rated players through their performances.

Now another name that is shining out from the Afghanistan cricket and that is of Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Shafiqullah Shafaq.

Shafiqullah Shafaq has shocked the cricket fraternity by scoring a huge individual total of 214 runs off just 71 balls. This performance came up in the T20 game that was organized in Afghanistan at domestic levels.

The domestic level championship is named as- Paragon Nangarhar Champions Trophy. In this exciting performance of 214 runs, Shafiqullah Shafaq seemed to be at a different level of his game.

In his innings, he hit 21 sixes all around the park and 16 boundaries to reach this record milestone.

Shafiqullah Shafaq was playing for Khateez Cricket Academy and with the help of his blistering knock; his team had put up a huge total of 351 in just 20 overs.

In this record total, there was also a contribution of his team mate Waheedullah Shafaq, who scored 81 runs in just 31 balls.

In reply to this mammoth total, Kabul star cricket club team just managed 107 runs in the quota of 20 overs and with this Khateez Cricket Academy registered a record 244 Run win of Kabul Star Cricket Club.

Shafiqullah Shafaq had already made his T20 debut against Ireland in 2010. He has played 35 innings and has scored 392 runs with a strike rate of 143.07. He also been featured in 20 ODIs and has scored a total of 383 runs.
