Snyder cut

Warner Bros. will release the ‘Snyder Cut’ of Justice League

So after a long wait of 4 years, this is finally going to happen, Warner Bros. is going to release the Snyder Cut for 2017 superhero movie “Justice League”. The movie will be released on HBO Max in 2021.

Zack Snyder was the original director of the movie but stepped away at the time of post-production and lighting due to family tragedy. Warner Bros. hired “The Avengers” director  Joss Whedon to finish the project and with a take of different directors, many fans believed that Zack Snyder cut would have been darker.

After that fans started a huge campaign going by the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, with many Justice League stars supporting it, including Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, and Jason Momoa.

Even Zack Snyder admitted on having his own cut, which really sent the movement on hyperdrive. This really is a great example of how a movement led by fans can really force a big organization to listen to what they want.

“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality,” said Snyder.

This is also a great move by Warner Media Entertainment to lure in customers to their upcoming streaming service HBO Max and they have already planned tons of content to be published on the service.

The original Justice League did not resonate with the fans and holds a pretty mediocre rating of 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. They were totally outclassed by The Marvel Cinematic Universe and made DC take a different route to release solo movies of different DC characters that were not connected to the DC Universe.
