Premier League matches to get fake crowd chants from FIFA games

Bundesliga has already resumed and so will Premiere League in the coming weeks, but there have already been efforts to remove the eeriness of silent stadiums. Sky Sports is working with the FIFA division of EA Sports to develop simulated chants and crowd noises for specific teams.

The current health scenario because of the COVID-19 pandemic put a hold onto any public event for the past few months, but with the games returning, the situation demands that matches be played in empty stadiums. To overcome this Sky Sports has been looking into options to make the match experience as good as possible for viewers at home.

With this system, their main goal is to replicate the noisy and pumped up atmosphere of premiere league clashes.

With live sport on hold for over two months, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how we broadcast in new ways to bring fans together, even if they can’t meet up to watch the match. We want Sky Sports viewers to still feel it all and have the best possible viewing experience — even if they can’t be in the stadiums or watch with their family and friends.

A similar experience was introduced in the Bundesliga, if you watched Bayern Munich’s 4-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen then you would have been amazed by the fake audience noise that was broadcasted, and overall reaction of the audience was very positive.
