Instagram Reels launched in India to fill the TikTok void

Instagram has started rolling out its new feature Instagram Reels in India, which was a direct competitor to TikTok, and with TikTok being banned in the country, this is a perfect moment for Facebook to get this new user base.

Reels have been available in few countries in testing mode, and this was made available in India yesterday in beta mode.

TikTok had a very wide user base in India with almost 200 million users. Now, this is a perfect opportunity for Instagram to attract that huge user base to its platform. Reels is not a standalone app like TikTok but is a feature in the main app.

To post an Instagram Reels head over to the Instagram Camera section and there will be an option titled Reels. With Reels you can create 15 seconds short clips and then post them on your profile. These Reels will be visible in the Explore section.

Instagram Reels might not be able to every user right now as this is still in the testing phase. But it may soon become available based on the user feedback it gets.
