FBI agents carried out a search warrant at YouTuber Jake Paul’s home

YouTuber celebrity Jake Paul’s Calabasas mansion was searched by the FBI under an allied search warrant related to an ongoing investigation on Wednesday, the agency confirmed.  

The affidavit is sealed, confirmed by a representative for the FBI’S Los Angles branch. This further prohibits them to give any details about the investigation. But the FBI spokesperson did say that there was no plan for an arrest and nor was there any arrest during the raid which was made early morning. The 23-year-old star was not present at the residence when the warrant was executed.  

In a statement to Buzzfeed News, a spokesperson for the FBI said the raid was in connection with investigations into pillage at an Arizona mall in the middle of nationwide protests sparked by the death of George Floyd. Paul was charged with criminal invading and unlawful assembly after videos showed him at the mall, and he denied that he was devoured in looting or vandalism in a May 31 tweet.   

“The FBI is investigating allegations of criminal acts surrounding the incident at Scottsdale Fashion Square in May 2020,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “This morning the FBI executed federal search warrants in California and Las Vegas, Nevada in connection with this investigation.” 

Izadi, a friend of Paul’s and an avowed “businessman, leading hospitality entrepreneur and renowned social media insider,” confirmed there was a “raid” at his Las Vegas home in his Instagram Stories on Wednesday. “I’m not going to get into any details other than to tell you the only thing they wanted to know about was Arizona,” he said in reference to the FBI investigation. 

The police have confirmed that they have received hundreds of clips and videos proving that Paul was a participant during the protest at the mall. Paul was present at the mall after the protest was declared an illegitimate assembly and “rioters” were ordered to leave. He also allegedly entered the mall illegally when it was closed. 

Paul has also been in the controversy for throwing a huge party at his Calabasas home in July when the coronavirus outbreak was at its peak. Videos and photographs of the bash show that the people who attended the party were not wearing masks or practicing social distancing. 

Calabasas Mayor Alicia Weintraub said the city was foreseeing taking action against the star for the party. “The warning period is over that no one should be having large parties in the city of Calabasas,” Weintraub said.
