Audi will be unveiling its production series model for the e-tron GT on the 9th of February. It is directly going to battle with the likes of Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan Turbo S in the electric vehicle space.
Audi e-tron GT will be produced on the same production line as R8 and is built on Porsche’s J1 platform. The Audi e-tron concept was shown to the public back in 2018 and after around two years we are about to see the production model of the vehicle.
Two electronic motors will produce a combined 590 horsepower to propel the Audi e-tron GT to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. However, on top of outright performance, Audi is taking the GT part of its name seriously.
This term originally stood for sports cars that were suited for long-distance races. GT models thus differ from pure sports cars in that they offer greater comfort and a larger interior. As a fully electric gran Turismo, the e-tron GT reinterprets this balancing act by not reducing performance to the sheer output but by attributing special creative importance to efficiency as well.

The e-tron GT has a range of 249 miles according to the European test cycle, which is typically less generous than EPA estimates. That puts it on par with the Taycan 4S with the 93-kWh battery option, which is also comparable to the e-tron GT’s 90-kWh power supply.
Audi also claims that the 800-volt charging system will take about 20 minutes to reach an 80 percent charge, while wireless charging technology will ensure hassle-free charging at home. We know quite a lot about the e-Tron GT although pricing hasn’t been confirmed.
We expect to hear Audi announce that its electric four-door fastback sedan GT will start at around $75,000.
