As we are seeing a concerning increase in the number of Covid 19 cases, a plea has been filed in SC by parents and students. Advocate Mamta Sharma on Friday filed a Plea in Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the Class 12 examination of 2021.
The petition in SC is directed towards the Centre, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE).
Along with the plea, many students have also asked for exam cancellation by campaigning on various social media and have viral hashtags.
They have been also running a Twitter campaign asking the Central Board of Education and authorities concerned to cancel the CBSE Class 12 exams.
There have been many rumors regarding this. in response to this rumor. Senior CBSE official told PTI that nothing of that sort has been decided. “It is clarified that no such decision (cancellation of exams) has been taken regarding class 12 board examination, as being speculated. Any decision taken in this matter will be officially communicated to the public, “he said.

Ministry of education also clarified the same and responded to the mounting query from students and parents. Though the board had earlier stated that the decision would be taken in the first week of June, MoE has now stated that the decision on CBSE 12th Board Exams 2021 may be taken by May 25.
Due to the rise in covid 19 case, CBSE decided to postpone the exam. Amidst all the speculations being around news and social media platforms, CBSE today have rejected all the claim for canceling class 12 examination as of now. However, for the petition that is filed in the Supreme Court, no decision has been announced yet.
Earlier in a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14, the CBSE has decided to cancel Class 10 exams and postpone class 12 exams.
