Twitter has been working on introducing some kind of subscription model and has also confirmed that earlier. Now app researcher Jane Manchun Wong, discovered what the feature will be called and how much will it cost.
Jane tweeted on Saturday about the feature Twitter Blue, which is the paid subscription model costing $2.99, which will provide some additional features like bookmark collections and undo tweets feature.
Undo Tweet is the feature that users would be most interested in. This feature gives the user the option to ‘Undo’ a tweet before it is actually posted on social media. The period to Undo the Tweet seems to be customizable.
The paid subscription model seems to be a tiered model so it could be the case that some features might be available to only a specific tier and the highest paying members will get a very premium experience.
Twitter has not confirmed the pricing that has been leaked for now, but Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has earlier said that Twitter would set a really high bar for when Twitter would ask customers to pay for aspects of Twitter.
Earlier this month Twitter acquired Scroll a $5 per month subscription service that removes ads from a website and provides users a premium experience. After the acquisition Scroll CEO said that Scroll would be integrated into a broader Twitter subscription later in the year.
So we can also expect ad free experience in the premium subscription plans.
As of now, no details have been revealed on when the feature will be released, as it is still in testing and it may take some time.
