Koenigsegg Jesko hypercar with 300mph top speed, unveiled at Geneva Motorshow

Koenigsegg is known for its high-performance sports cars, with some of the most beautiful and amazingly fast cars. The company along with these cars is also known for bringing in innovations in the automobile sector. One such innovation is in the form a brand new entrant in the Koenigsegg family, The Koenigsegg Jesko.

This is the car that Koenigsegg claims to be the fastest road legal car in the world as it is the first car to reach the 300 mph speed barrier. Earlier the record for the fastest car was held by Koenigsegg Agera RS itself which claimed a top speed of 447 kph.

For the moment Koenigsegg hasn’t found the right tires for the cars as explained by PowerDrift in the video below, with some more amazing insights into the car.

Koenigsegg Jesko is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine with a lightweight, flat plane crankshaft and new intake system along with 3 fuel injectors per cylinder. This engine allows for 1281hp power at 7,800 rpm and 1106 lb/ft (1,500 Nm) torque at 5,100 rpm. The engine gets mated to a new Light Speed 9 speed multi-clutch automatic transmission developed in-house.

The Jesko also gets Koenigsegg Electronic Differential (KED) and Koenigsegg Gearbox Control Module (KGCM) with Ultimate Power on Demand (UPOD). The gearbox is able to change cogs at any speed in a matter of 20 milliseconds.

This car is loaded with all the latest tech and one of the most talked about feature is the all-new clutch system. The new clutch system is less than half the weight of a double clutch transmission system, a lot faster than that and can deal with a lot more torque.

This is going to be limited to 125 cars and will cost around $3 Million, with the deliveries to start in 2020.
