AMD launches highest performing 6-core processor

At CES 2017 AMD announced their all new lineup of desktop processors that was AMD Ryzen. Then AMD released their AMD Ryzen 7 series processors which were having 8 cores and they received great praise. But now AMD has officially launched AMD Ryzen 5 series processors, which are 6 core processors.

These AMD Ryzen are supposed to give PC enthusiasts the power they needed at such an amazing price. We have also done a detailed look at Ryzen processors.

On 11 April 2017 AMD released their Ryzen 5 processors. AMD Ryzen 5 directly compete with Intel i5 processors but offer a great price. AMD specifies that their Ryzen 5 1600X has 87% more performance than Intel i5 7600K model. Ryzen processors feature AMD SenseMi technology and they are supported on “Zen” core architecture.

Jim Anderson, senior vice president and general manager, Computing and Graphics Group, AMD said “AMD Ryzen is a proven game-changer, ultimately bringing innovation and competition back across PC market segments, and we are excited to introduce the next tier of AMD Ryzen processors to the market today, AMD Ryzen 5 revitalizes the mid-section of the desktop market, offering consumers excellent pricing while providing a smooth and impressive overall experience, whether for high-performance gaming or demanding applications.”

AMD has launched two 6 core and two 4 core AMD 5 Ryzen models, all featuring AMD simultaneous multithreading (SMT) technology. All AMD Ryzen processors support the new AM4 infrastructure, with motherboard designs already broadly available from top motherboard manufacturers.

As there are 4 models released, two are 6 cores and two are 4 cores. Ryzen 5 1600X and 1600 are 6 core processors and their respective prices are around Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 15,799. And for Ryzen 5 1500X and 1400 which are 4 core, pricing is supposed to be a little low. It should be around Rs. 13,799 for AMD Ryzen 5 1500X and Rs. 12,199 for AMD Ryzen 1400.
